The National Engagement Barometer

The National Engagement Barometer is a large-scale study on civic engagement, volunteering, and community life. Municipalities and organizations participate together to reach a wide audience and generate a representative picture of how people contribute to society — and how this engagement can be further supported.

In previous editions held in Belgium, 22,000 and 18,000 participants took part, supported by over 150 local authorities and organizations.

How residents take part

As a resident, you can come into contact with the project in several ways. You may be invited by your local authority or an organisation you belong to. You might also see a call to take part through local or national campaigns on social media, newsletters or other communication channels.
